Log entry: RELEASED TO: "Rainier # 3 - GCG03V" Out with KCSearcher crew (my wife) as we head from Astoria, OR to Sandy, OR. Had spent Christmas holiday in Newport with relatives. Heading to Sandy via a route to pickup Clatsop, Pacific, Wahkiakum, Cowlitz, Columbia, Multnomah and Clackamas counties. I ran several PQ's in prep for the trip that will include all of the Northwestern Oregon counties and a few in Central Oregon (to see my brother and his wife, the bubblegummers) with three or four opportunistic trips to Washington counties that border the Columbia River. This one popped up on my Columbia county caches. Coordinates and hint were good. Quick and easy. Cache is in good shape. Elevation 19 feet (will be underwater when all of the ice caps melt due to global warming). Weather about 40 degrees. Overcast, rain has temporarily stopped, slight breeze, cold.

Log entry: CAUGHT FROM: "Caswell - GCTJ6Y" Out with KCSearcher crew (my wife and youngest daughter) to have lunch with my wife's sister (annual Christmas gift swap), pick up some Modesto caches, and drop off a TB "Bible Bowl..." who's destination is targeted at Modesto within 5 miles of N37° 39.905 W120° 59.702. This drop put it about 10.5 miles away. I couldn't quickly find a closer easy cache in Modesto that would fit it. As an added benefit, "Manny Monkey" is supposed to visit the CA State Parks. Caswell fits the bill. Took a while to find. Hint was necessary as the coordinates read on my GPSr were about 30 feet off (my daughter found it using the hint). Cache is in good shape. Wife stayed back at the car and met up with the park care takers and had a nice chat as we headed back. Handed them one of my "What am I doing?" cards. It directs them to www.geocaching.com to learn more. Elevation 22 feet. Weather 53 degrees. Hazy and calm just after sunset.
